Sheila Schauble – Artist Bio
Sheila Schauble was born in the small town of Bonners Ferry in Northern Idaho. Surrounded by nature's beauty and inspired by a creative grandmother, she developed an early passion for the natural world—a love that still shines through her artwork today.
Throughout her childhood, Sheila’s family moved frequently—living in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, and Alabama. No matter where she landed, she was never without a pen, pencil, or brush in hand. Her artistic curiosity grew alongside her experiences, and a country way of life always held a special place in her heart.
In 1997, a move to Arizona introduced her to the rich traditions of the Western cowboy. Combined with her deep appreciation for small farming towns and local wildlife, her creative world expanded in ways she had only dreamed of.
As a young adult, she channeled her creativity into a successful interior design business, specializing in faux finishes and hand-painted murals. Though she climbed the professional ladder, she longed for something more personally fulfilling.
That change came in 2018, when she picked up oil painting for the first time. It proved life-changing. A self-taught artist, Sheila found her true voice in oil and the expressive realism that lets her capture not just what a scene looks like—but what it feels like. She paints memory, place, and emotion as much as image.
After more than two decades in the American Southwest, Sheila now paints from her small studio in Granbury, Texas—living her lifelong dream and bringing stories of nature, heritage, and the American West to life on canvas.
